A Major in NaturalProducts at Undergraduate Level, Enacted

The Ministry of Health and Medical Education delegate in the National Council for Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine indicated that a major in Natural Products has been enacted.

Mahmood Khodadoust said, “In the last meeting of the Council determined by Planning Council in Higher Education, a major in Natural Products was enacted. This will be subsequent to a diploma course. This approach of Ministry of Health has brought hope for more majors to be passed by the council.”

Khodadoust further noted,”Prior to this, Iranian Traditional Medicine Massage course was suggested for bachelor’s level; however, it was disapproved. At the moment, this major has been offered at an associate degree level, which means students will enter this field of study after the completion of a diploma course, and in the end they will be given an associate degree.”

He added, “it is strongly believed that such academic fields will have a positive impact on employment. Therefore, with the new approach, we are endeavoring to expand the supporting majors of this field.”
