Islamic Republic of Iran’s minister of Agriculture Jihad, Mahmoud Hojjati, in two separate meetings with Agriculture Minister of Germany and Minister of Economic Development and Technology of Slovenia, indicated that bilateral collaboration in the field of agriculture and medicinal plants will be expanded between the countries.
Director general of International Business Development, Vice-presidency for Science and Technology said,”Today, in an agreement with a Malaysian trading and production company, it has been settled to export 20 million dollars worth of Iranian herbal medicine to the four Asian countries of Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore.”

The International Congress on “Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy, and Complementary Medicine” will be held by Research Institute for Islamic and Complementary Medicine together with the faculty of Traditional Medicine of Tehran University of Medical Sciences from December 3rd to December 5th, 2016.
On-the-Job Training with Iranian Traditional Medicine Teachings, for the Empowerment of Health Care Professionals
In order to empower the health care professionals, vice-presidency for Traditional Medicine of Ministry of Health and Medical Education is planning to hold on-the-job training courses based on Iranian traditional medicine teachings.
In a collaborative effort, Fruit and Vegetables Organization of Tehran’s municipality and Iran Organic Association, held Tehran’s 8th International Organic Week Festival in Goftegou Garden Park from December 19th to December 25th.
The first festival for Natural Health and Beauty Products was held by Research Institute of Forests and Rangelands, and 13 manufacturing companies as well as several knowledge-based companies, active in the field of health and beauty products, participated. This festival took place in National Botanical Garden of Iran.
Theoretical and Practical Workshop on “The Study of Cytotoxicity of Medicinal Plants’ Active Compounds on Cancer Cell lines”
Collaborating with National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, National Network of Research and Technology in Medicinal Plants is planning on holding a theoretical and practical workshop on “The Study of Cytotoxicity of Medicinal Plants’ Active Compounds on Cancer Cell lines”, on January 13th.
The educational workshop on “business plan in medicinal plants” was held by National Network of Research and Technology in Medicinal Plants.
Volume 2, number 4 of scientific-research journal, “Saffron Agronomy and Technology”, has been published. This seasonal journal is published by Torbat-e Heydarieh University.
Referring to Iran’s first rank in the world in production of pomegranate, the general director of Tropical and Subtropical Fruits Department of Ministry of Agriculture Jihad said, “One million tonnes of pomegranate is annually produced in Iran.”
