Due to Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province’s green pastures covered with medicinal plants, this province is apt to develop honey bee breeding and the honey produced in this province is of high quality.
The head of Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of Yazd province said, “Medicinal plants are considered to have the fastest yields among the agricultural products.”
The director of Horticulture Department of Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of Qom province announced that 594 tonnes of medicinal plants were produced last year.
This congress is held in order to achieve the goals of the twenty-year Perspective Document, implementation of Iran’s Comprehensive Scientific Plan and the advancement of national and regional missions aligned with the research of knowledge-based economy and the use of medicinal plants for employment, economy development and safety of food in Iran
The director general of Fars province Customs said, “The export of liquorice from Fars province to foreign countries has had an increase of up to 109 percent.”
Referring to Iran’s rank as number one in production and export of saffron, head of Iran’s National Saffron Council said, “There has been up to 20 percent increase in the export of this product, this year.”

In 2015, one million, 985 thousand, 555 dollars worth of fresh barberries were exported from Iran to countries such as Germany, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar and Australia, respectively.
According to 1404 Perspective Document, five hundred thousand hectares of lands will be cultivated with these plants. I
