Establishment of Iranian Medicinal Plants’ Export Base in China

Advisor of Vice-president for Science and Technology said, “Iranian Vice-presidency for Science and Technology, together with Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China as well as Chinese Academy of Sciences, in the presence of both countries’ presidents signed a collaboration agreement in the field of science and technology

The Secretary of Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Culture Development, Vice-presidency for Science and Technology, Parviz Karami, referred to the visit of top Chinese officials to Iran, including the Chinese president, Shi Chin Ping, and said, “There will be two collaboration agreements concerning science and technology, signed between the Iranian Vice-president for Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China as well as Chinese Academy of Sciences.
According to the advisor of National Elites Foundation, this year, Iranian medicinal plants’ export base, with the support of Vice-presidency for Science and Technology and focusing on private sectors, has started its work in the Chinese city of Shenzhen. In the areas of South-eastern Asia, the activities of this base have lead to 18 Iranian herbal medicine registration in China, and the selling of Iranian herbal medicine-based products, with the value of 11 million dollars in 2015.
For further clarification of the activities of this base, Karami explained, “There has been actions taken as to sign contracts for the selling of the Iranian herbal medicines with the trade name of “Avicenna” by herbal medicine consortium, the value being 20 million dollars, sent from the Chinese base to countries of south-eastern Asia.”
