Instructions for “The Implementation of Entrepreneurship Programs in Traditional Medicine” Compiled

Secretary of National Council for Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine, Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, said, “The instructions for the preparation and implementation of entrepreneurship programs in medicinal plants and traditional medicine have been written and compiled.”

Referring to the fact that the year 2017 is termed ‘Economy of Resistance, Production and Employment’, he explained about this year’s plans and programs which are in compliance with this motto, “Considering the fact that knowledge-based economy is the only way to improve the businesses in the fields of medicinal plants and natural-based products, it is proposed that there should be a network of medicinal plants and traditional medicine technology management to arrange the relations between private sectors and the active knowledge-based companies of this field.”

He noted, “In the knowledge-based companies, production, distribution and the application of knowledge, have been factors in the economic growth, production of wealth and employment in all the industries, and the advancement of knowledge-based economy is one of the main issues that the  economy of resistance policies have paid special attention to.”

According to the Secretary of National Council for Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine, Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, with the efforts of National Council for Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine, Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology in the recent years, the infrastructure to fulfill the motto has been developed. Therefore, consistency and strengthening of the approach and the present direction of the mentioned council based on the strategic content of the road map, is demanded.”

In regards to the production of a program and a practical method for developing businesses in medicinal plants and traditional medicine, he noted, “This program takes into account all the stages from pre-feasibility study of an idea to a codified plan for entering the market, analyzing industry, customers and competition, etc.”

Referring to the compilation of the Employment Document of the Ministries and the institutions that work together with the council, which is included in the Sixth Development Plan, with the goal of predicting real employment capacities and potentials, the Secretary of National Council for Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine, Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology said, “The instructions for the preparation and implementation of entrepreneurship programs in medicinal plants and traditional medicine have been written and compiled.”

According to him, the necessary mechanism and standards for the management methods in small and average industries relevant to manufacturing drugs and the country’s natural-based products with respect to the Supreme Leader’s reference to the challenges mentioned, will be compiled.

Referring to the identification of the job categories that have priorities in the different provinces of the country based on the advantages of each province over the other, Assareh added, “For this reason, a trained expert preferably from a private sector should be chosen as an employment agent for the province. This should be done by the entrepreneurship work group of National Council for Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine, Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology of each province or region.”

He went on to say, “Some of these agents’ responsibilities are:  organize and align all the resources of the relevant institutions and get the participation of the executive organizations of the province as well as attract investment and cooperation of the private sectors.”

The secretary of National Council for Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine, Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology further noted, “Based on the assessment of the entrepreneurship work group in each council, for each prioritized category, a trained expert should be chosen as the head of development of that category in the country so that these people proceed with the study and compilation of practical executive plans for the development of the relevant category (in one year practical programs).”
