Veterinary herbal drugs will be supporrted by Sci-Tech vice-president of Iran

Consultant of the Council of Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine, Ali Ebrahimi Varkiani announced that this council will support those companies that wish to enter veterinary herbal medicine field.

In the fifth session of veterinary working group of Council of Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine, it was emphasized that the chemical drugs which enter the market as herbal medicine must be identified and it was decided that the relevant authorities should take actions and make necessary arrangements to prevent such incidents.

The fifth session of veterinary working group of Council of Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine was held with the attendance of professors of relevant universities , experts, the representatives of knowledge-based veterinary pharmaceutical companies with herbal origins and some of the representatives of governmental organizations.

Consultant and representative of the Council of Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine, Ali Ebrahimi Varkiani emphasized on the revival and capacity increase of knowledge production and productivity of our country’s potential in the field of medicinal plant industry and veterinary consumables.

He also pointed out that there should be systematized structures for preparation of road map principles in different fields such as veterinary and that these principles need to be based on purposes and strategies of National Medicinal Plant and Traditional Medicine Document.

According to Ebrahimi Varkiani, the systematizing needs to be done by emphases on pivotal vocation, future-based decisions, dynamic orientation, flexible modification, creativity and innovation, strategic supervision and control and synergy of activities.

As stated by this report, the members of the working group focused attention on the support of the plans and project presentation in the field of veterinary by indicating the medicinal plants economic growth, and by speeding up the transformation of science flow to wealth by commercializing the domestic technologies.

In this session it was also mentioned that, Council of Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine welcomes the activities of private sectors in this respect and is looking forward to more activities by this sector. Furthermore, in order to follow the policies of each province based on National Medicinal Plant Document, finding aptitudes in the field of medicinal plants in different provinces of Iran has been started. This division is done by finding aptitudes, National Document, road plan and territorial planning.

In addition, the following topic was professionally discussed by prominent scientific researchers, experts and knowledge-based companies:  the importance and necessity of dairy products of veterinary classification to promote health and safety of food, by presenting knowledge-based  economy plans.

In the fifth session of veterinary working group of Council of Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine, the head of Iranian Association of Veterinary Clinical Pathology and member of the university faculty, Dr. Shahab-o-din Safi presented a comprehensive report to the working group session, on feasibility and assessment of medicinal plants and traditional medicine technical education in the field of veterinary in universities and higher educational institutions. This report was presented due to the importance and necessity of consistent education and the use of cohesive and scientific research findings and in order to operationalize it.

In the other part of the session, it was suggested to identify those chemical drugs that enter the market as herbal medicine and that the relevant authorities must take actions and make necessary arrangements to prevent such incidents from occuring in the future, so that people’s trust of herbal medicine will not be impaired.
