Head of Iran’s Tea Research Institute said, “National Conference on Tea and Herbal Tea will be held from 31st of January to 1st of February in Lahijan city of Iran, with the collaboration of Iran’s Medicinal Plants Society.”
In an interview with Tasnim in Rasht, Reza Azadi stated, “Tea and Herbal Tea Conference will be held in Lahijan on 31st of January and 1st of February by Iran’s Tea Research Institute and with the collaboration of Iran’s Medicinal Plants Society. Their motto is “economy of resistance, health and food safety”.
Head of Iran’s Tea Research Institute said, “In the Tea Research Institute, we endeavor to hold this conference at the highest level in Lahijan, Iran’s center for tea, with the aid and support of all the organizations, universities and institutes of the region.”
He noted that having access to healthy and organic Iranian tea, making new economic resources of revenues as well as finding its shares in the domestic and global markets, are among the responsibilities of Tea Institute, then added, “Iran’s unique quality of tea has been overshadowed by the fake advertisements for unpleasant teas containing color and artificial flavors.”
Head of Tea Research Institute of Iran said, “Iran Tea Organization, Tea Fund Organization, University of Guilan, Guilan University of Medical Sciences, Guilan Science and Technology Park and Guilan Elite Foundation, are all among the participants of this conference.”
Concerning the goals of this conference, the executive secretary of National Conference on Tea and Herbal Tea noted, “The main aims of this conference are to raise public’s scientific awareness and expand the latest research technology in terms of tea and herbal tea.”
Azadi referred to the Iranian tea as the second most important drink after water, herbal tea and other herbal products, then added, “150 applicants have so far registered to take part in this conference and a good number of scientific papers have been sent to the secretariat of the conference.”
This executive secretary of National Tea and Herbal Tea Conference went on to say, “The final number of papers will be determined after refereeing in the scientific committee of the conference. The papers will be accepted until 31st of December and the conference is on the 31st of January and 1st of February, 2017.”
“Five educational workshops entitling: Tea Sensation Test, Herbal Medicine Standards, Latest Food Packaging Technology, Methods for Extracting Medicinal Plants Essential Oil and Active Compounds as well as Preparation of Herbal Cosmetic Products; are held parallel to the conference,” he said.
He also noted that this conference provides a great opportunity to introduce Iranian tea, and the effects of herbal tea as well as tea itself, which can influence the financial status and livelihood of the farmers and tea growers, providing incentive to produce medicinal plants.
Head of Tea Research Institute of Iran said, “This conference has been indexed in Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) with a code of: 96170-90403, as well as in Scientific Information Database (SID).”
“22 exhibition stalls have been considered for producers’ activities and commodities, the rental conditions are included in the conference website, applicants may contact the conference secretariat for further arrangements,” he noted.
“In relations to the water crisis, Tea Research Institute has always been a pioneer in irrigation projects. Water consumption and drought management is another item of the conference. These conferences are essential in solving the problems of water crisis.”
The executive secretary of National Tea and Herbal Tea Conference indicated, “The climate and the situations of Guilan’s tea growing lands have attracted investors for tea and herbal tea industry and cultivation.”
