The Need for 2-5% Rise in Annual Financial Circulation of Medicinal Plants

The secretary of Medicinal Plant National Network said, “According to the predictions, and under the Perspective Document 1404 of Financial Circulation of All Drugs in the country, there should be a rise of between 2 to 5 percent in the medicinal plants production.”

Professor Peyman Salehi, the Secretary of Medicinal Plant National Network said, “According to the reports received, so far 790 items of medicinal plants and their related products have received license to be produced, and it has been predicted in the Perspective Document for Iran that this number should have 5 to 10 percent rise.”

He added, “In the Perspective Document 1404, it has been predicted that between 2 to 5 percent of the financial circulation of all drugs in the country, in the field of herbal medicine, they should be produced domestically, and that this is a big number which has been pre-planned, and if we move in the direction of treatment by traditional medicine in large part, we must foresee the drug sources.”
