Regional Center for Research and Education of Medicinal Plants Will be Established in Iran

Dr. Molanejad, the Director of the Indian Ocean Rim Countries Association of Regional Center for Science and Technology Transfer (IORA RCSTT), “A Regional Center for Research and Education of Medicinal Plants will be established at the location of Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology, supported by the private sector, in order to uniform and coordinate the medicinal plants standard for the IOR region.

Dr. Molanejad, the Director of the Indian Ocean Rim Countries Association of Regional Center for Science and Technology Transfer (IORA RCSTT), after visiting Barij Essence company situated in Kashan, brought to light the news of the establishment of a Regional Center for Research and Education of Medicinal Plants in Iran.

Molanejad stated, “In this visit, the draft document for uniformity and coordination of the medicinal plants standard for the IOR region was prepared and then was given to the countries of the region to get their standpoint as well.”

He then added, “The development of medicinal plants technology in the IOR region and standardization of IOR regional medicinal plants were taken into consideration after the second meeting of Medicinal Plants Focal Points of Indian Ocean Rim Countries Association of Regional Center for Science and Technology (IORA RCSTT), was held between 18th to 19th of March by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and supported by Indian Central Institute for Medicinal and Aromatic Plants.”

Molanejad went on to say, “In this meeting 23 knowledge-based companies together with a team of Islamic Republic of Iran’s relevant officials such as the representative of medicinal plants council were present.”

“Together with a group of prominant figures in this industry, there was a visit to Iran’s biggest medicinal plants company located in Kashan, aimed at developing the cooperations.”,  Said the Director of the Indian Ocean Rim Countries Association of Regional Center for Science and Technology Transfer (IORA RCSTT).

He said, “The most important outcome of this visit was to get a primary approval for the establishment of a Regional Center for Research and Education of Medicinal Plants at the location of Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology, supported by the private sector.”
