Collaboration Agreement of Iranian and Chinese Traditional Medicine, Signed

The one day symposium of the Iranian and Chinese traditional medicine was held at the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, with the collaboration between Faculty of Traditional Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and Vice-presidency of Traditional Medicine of Ministry of Health and Medical Education, during which, collaboration agreements regarding the Iranian and Chinese traditional medicine were signed.

The one day symposium of the Iranian and Chinese traditional medicine was held at the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, with the collaboration between Faculty of Traditional Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and Vice-presidency of Traditional Medicine of Ministry of Health and Medical Education, during which, collaboration agreements regarding the Iranian and Chinese traditional medicine were signed.
The one day symposium of the Iranian and Chinese traditional medicine was held at the Ministry of Health and Medical education, with the collaboration between Faculty of Traditional Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and Vice-presidency of Traditional Medicine of Ministry of Health and Medical Education. This convention was attended by the deputy of Traditional Medicine of Ministry of Health and Medical Education, university presidents, the deans of traditional medicine faculties of universities of medical sciences such as Tehran, Shahid Beheshti, Iran, Shahed, Shiraz, Tabriz, Arak, Babol and Kashan. This symposium was conducted at the community hall of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education which vice-president of Academy of Chinese Traditional Medicine, head of World Federation of Acupuncture together with the president of Hubei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and some of the professors from this university were also present.
At the beginning of this event, the Deputy of Traditional Medicine of Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Dr. Khodadoust, considered the attendance of the Chinese team of officials, a great opportunity to benefit from the experiences and capacities of the Chinese traditional medicine, and added, “Now that this connection between the Faculty of Traditional Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences and the Academy of Chinese Traditional Medicine has been established, we must make the most out of this opportunity to exploit the Chinese international experience regarding traditional medicine, and create a bilateral collaboration and cooperation, and strive to promote and further introduce the Iranian traditional medicine.”
The international consultant of the vice-presidency of Traditional Medicine of Ministry of Health and Medical Education, and the international deputy of Faculty of Traditional Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Dr. Kazemi, later introduced the structures of vice-presidency of Traditional Medicine of Ministry of Health and Medical Education, and explained about the national and international regulations and policies regarding traditional medicine, its products, as well as the actions that the vice-presidency of Islamic Iranian Traditional Medicine has taken in the past three years. He also acquainted the audience with the traditional medicine faculties, educational courses and the status of complementary medicine, then announced the number of graduates and employed physicians and practitioners in Iranian traditional and complementary medicine.
The Faculty dean of the Traditional Medicine of Tehran University, Dr. Rezaiezadeh, next gave a brief speech about the outlook and approach of Iranian traditional medicine concerning prevention and treatment of diseases, then introduced Faculty of Traditional Medicine of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, its educational and research system and priorities.
The faculty dean of Traditional Medicine of Shahid Beheshti University, Dr. Mosadegh, was the next speaker of the symposium, who talked about the herbal pharmacy approach in the Iranian traditional medicine.
Following that, the vice-president of the Academy of Chinese Traditional Medicine, professor Liv Bavivan, referred to how much he has learned about the Iranian traditional medicine in this trip and said, “The government and the Chinese Ministry of Health have reached a conclusion that if the traditional medicine is eliminated from the health care system, the health care sector can never fulfill its duties properly. Medicine and pharmacy with a traditional approach have a prominent, an undeniable position in China as well as an important role in the health care system. In all the hospitals of China, Chinese traditional medicine services, such as herbal medicine and acupuncture are provided, that is, currently, in six thousand hospitals, such services are granted.”
He continued to speak in details about the Academy of Chinese Traditional Medicine, structure and regulations of traditional medicine in China, Traditional Medicine Association and Vice-presidency of Traditional Medicine, World Federation of Acupuncture, as well as the history and the method in which the traditional medicine was integrated with the allopathic medicine in China. In the end he stressed, “We have reached a conclusion that combining the traditional medicine with the allopathic medicine is the best alternative for a more complete treatment and the most important step to improve the medical sciences.”
Later, professor Wang Hua, the president of Hubei University of China, gave a comprehensive explanation surrounding the educational system of Chinese traditional medicine.
This one day symposium concluded by the signing of two collaboration agreement regarding traditional medicine. One of these agreements, was between vice-presidency of Traditional Medicine of Ministry of Health and Medical Education and the Academy of Chinese Traditional Medicine, and the other one, was concerning academic collaboration specifically education and research, which was signed between Faculty of Traditional Medicine of Tehran University of Medical Sciences and the Academy of Chinese Traditional Medicine.
One of the aims of both these agreements, is to further introduce the Iranian traditional medicine to the Chinese and to hold shared congresses for familiarizing the world with the Iranian and Chinese traditional medicine
