Secretary of National Network of Research and Technology in Medicinal Plants Took Second Place in Khwarizmi International Award

Dr. Peyman Salehi, the secretary of the National Network of Science and Technology in Medicinal Plants, took the second place for fundamental research section of Khwarizmi International Award.
The outline and plan presented in this award ceremony by Dr. Peyman Salehi was entitled “New Methods for the Preparation of Novel Synthetic and Natural Biologically Active Compounds”. The main subject of this project has been the extraction and identification of natural compounds and the implementation of structural changes on them in order to get to desired biological properties. The result of this research has been published in the form of over 120 papers in international journals.
This award ceremony started accepting outlines and projects since July last year, 628 of which were received in 5 different research categories, and out of all the projects, 402 were presented by Iranian researchers in the country. In the foreign section of this award ceremony, 226 projects were accepted from researchers of 44 countries around the world. As a result , 11 projects from scientists inside Iran and 11 projects from scientists outside Iran were rewarded after all the different refereeing stages.
The 29th Khwarizmi International Award for honoring outstanding researchers was attended by the Minister of Science, Research and Technology as well as some foreign ambassadors, and held at Tehran’s Islamic Summit Conference Hall, on Monday March 7, 2016
