A technical educational acupuncture course started with a ceremony attended by a team of Iranian physicians in Beijing, the capital of China.

IRNA reports; in this course, which is hosted by “Beijing University of Chinese Medicine”, 19 of our country’s physicians will pass a two-to-four year program, at the end of which they are presented with a master’s or PhD degree.

The professor of Beijing University of  Chinese Medicine, Dr. Amir Reza Golchian, in the sideline of the commencement of this program, told IRNA reporter that the attendance of Iranian physicians is aligned with the policies of Iran’s Ministry of Health and Medical Education.

He further elaborated, “According to the standards of Ministry of Health and Medical Education, those physicians with relevant licenses are only permitted to perform acupuncture for the sake of treatment of diseases, therefore, only after passing a minimum of two years academic course and evaluation of their degrees by the Ministry of Health, can they receive their licenses.”

This professor of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine specified, “Aligned with the aforementioned policies, opportunity arose so that the first acupuncture course, hosted by Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, can be held, attended by 19 physicians from different parts of Iran, who previously registered to take part.”

He continued to say, “These physicians, not only learn the sciences relevant to acupuncture, but they are also educated on herbal therapy, massage therapy, tai chi and qi gong, by the most experienced professors of Beijing  University of Acupuncture.”

He pointed out the lack of such physicians to teach technical courses on acupuncture  and the need to have experts of this major in our own country.

Dr. Golchian specified, “Luckily, the Iranian traditional medicine with its long history of several thousand years and the variety of medicinal plants, have made it possible to meet the majority of the society’s need for complementary medicine, and the only advantage of Chinese traditional medicine over other complementary medicine is its usage of acupuncture in treatment.”

This lecturer of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine further noted, “Having arranged with the officials of this university, we are now able to have more of these courses and further opportunities are prepared for those physicians who are interested in taking part in technical acupuncture courses.”

Acupuncture is in fact, one of the branches of complementary and alternative medicine, which is claimed to treat, facilitate and speed up the recovery process of different diseases.

For centuries, this method has been used in China, for treatment of a lot of diseases  and it is a way of balancing the energy flow in the body.

Acupuncture specialists believe that by inserting tiny needles in specific parts, we can balance the energy flow in the body.

In recent years, so many of the patients who have been dissatisfied with or lost trust in the modern medicine, have now turned to various methods of traditional and complementary medicine such as acupuncture for enhancing treatment. This broad wave has prevailed over the world from the east to the west.
