The First Company to Produce Edible and Medicinal Algae

Manager of the Central Province’s Fisheries Organization of Agriculture Jihad said, “This year, the knowledge-based company that produces microalgae suitable for human use, will be opened for the first time in the Middle East, in Delijan County of Iran.”

Based on a report by the Public Relations of the Central Province’s Agriculture Jihad Organization, Hasan Akbari further noted, “This company will start its work in Delijan county, with the capacity of producing 18 tonnes of edible microalgae suitable for human use, and a credit of over 18 billion rial from the capital contribution.”

He added, “At the moment, the pilot phase of this company has started its work, and 12 university students of this county have found employment there. It is predicted that by the time the full-scale phase is implemented, 950 people will have found direct employment.”

This manager of the Central Province’s Fisheries Organization of Agriculture Jihad indicated that in the first phase, this company would produce edible microalgea and in the second phase, natural edible pigments and vitamin B necessary for pharmaceutical companies would be manufactured.
