National Network of Research and Technology in Medicinal Plants is holding an educational workshop on “business plan in medicinal plants”, on the 16th of December.
The secretary for NCSTDMP announced that 94 knowledge-based companies exist in the field of medicinal plants, herbal medicine, natural and traditional medicine products, he then added, “These companies have manufactured 586 knowledge-based products.”
A national Forum of the country’s professors and practitioners of traditional medicine was held in the holy city of Mashhad, with the objective of ‘traditional medicine investigation in the past ten years and delineating the horizon ahead, in ten years to come’.
The head of Fars Province Agricultural Jihad Organization notified that there has been a 216 hectares increase in medicinal plants cultivated lands in Fars province as well as the provision of fifty thousand subsidized saplings of these plants in this province.
The deputy minister of Traditional Medicine of Ministry of Health and Medical Sciences noted that this Ministry financially supports the researches in the field of medicinal plants and herbal medicine and said, “The number of researches and papers in this field is growing.”
The workshop on the secondary metabolites production using hairy-root culture was held on Wednesday, 11h of November 2015, by National Network of Research and Technology in Medicinal Plants in the Medicinal Plants and Drugs Research Institute of Shahid Beheshti University.
Vice minister of Traditional Medicine of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education said, “Iranian herbal medicine will be exported to the 22 countries which have interactions with South Korea, as soon as they get a permit from South Korean Food and Drug Administration.”
Deputy minister of Medicinal and Ornamental Plants and Floral Affairs of Ministry of Agriculture Jihad said, “Last year, 26 thousand tonnes of medicinal plants products worth 96.5 million dollars were exported.”
The secretary for National Council for Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine, Vice-presidency for Science and Technology said, “Iran has gained first place in the world for production of Rosa damascena.”
