Iran’s Fifth National Congress on Medicinal Plants Was Held
The 5th National Congress on Medicinal Plants was held in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences on Wednesday and Thursday, 18th and 19th of May 2016.

Referring to the commencement of Rosa damascena harvest season from the rose gardens of North Khorasan province, the head of Horticulture Department of Agriculture Jihad said, “With 45 hectares increase, the cultivation area of this flower has been more than doubled to 96 hecares, this year.”
Scientific secretary for the 5th National Congress on Medicinal Plants said, “680 papers will be presented in this event, out of which 35 are in the form of lecture and the rest are posters.”
The secretary for the National Council for Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine, Vice-presidency for Science and Technology said, “This year, there is going to be a techno market for those knowledge-based companies which have products with no support for them in the market
Iran has indicated a readiness to develop a collaboration with Germany, in the field of plant pathology, veterinary, livestock and poultry research.
The National Council for Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine, Vice-presidency for Science and Technology announced its plans and projects for 2016.
Vice-president of Iranian Research Institute of Forests and Rangelands said, “The making of comprehensive atlas of Iranian Thymus and the compilation of essential oil standard for Satureja hortensis are among the achievements of the Medicinal Plants Research Department of the Center of Excellence for Plant Essential oils, in 2015.”
Secretary for National Council for Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine, Dr. Mohammad Hassan Assareh, explained about the achievements in medicinal plants and traditional medicine in 2015.
Member of this council said, “The producers of medicinal plants seeds will be supported.”
Dr. Peyman Salehi, the secretary of the National Network of Science and Technology in Medicinal Plants, took the second place for fundamental research section of Khwarizmi International Award
