Number 1, volume 32 of the quarterly publication of Iran’s Medicinal and Aromatic Plants was issued with 15 scientific and research papers.

The general manager of Natural, Traditional Products and Supplement Supervision of Iran’s Food and Drug Administration indicated that 1,713 medicinal plant products exist in the country.

The first Traditional Medicine and Medicinal plants’ Conference was held in Hamedan Province, concurrent with Avicenna’s birthday.

Dr. Muhammad Hassan Assareh indicated that there is going to be a techno-market in the Third Festival and Exhibition on Iranian Medicinal Plants, Natural-based products and Traditional Medicine, in order to establish ties between the investors and innovators.

This year, three tonnes of Ferula gummosa will be harvested from 400 hectares in eight medicinal plants habitat in Semnan province.

Chief of Office for Natural, Traditional Products and Supplement Supervision of Iran’s Food and Drug Administration said, “Ministry of Health and Medical Education is obligated to prepare the ground for the development of traditional and natural-based products.”

The Third Festival on Iranian Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine has been planned in a way that the important and key issues relevant are to be presented in the form of educational workshops and technical panels through seminars of researchers in the field of medicinal plants and traditional medicine industry.

Due to Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province’s green pastures covered with medicinal plants, this province is apt to develop honey bee breeding and the honey produced in this province is of high quality.

The head of Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of Yazd province said, “Medicinal plants are considered to have the fastest yields among the agricultural products.”

The director of Horticulture Department of Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of Qom province announced that 594 tonnes of medicinal plants were produced last year.
